Glittefest!

Hello!
Long time no write, I know, but with all of the social media out there I do not know where this blog fits in.  Please leave a comment if you were here, so we know who is out there!

These are the Glitterfest Fall winners for the most "BOOTIFUL BOOTH!".  We give out awards at every Glitterfest.  So many of the artists go above and beyond on their booths , we just had to recognize them for all of their efforts!

Priscilla Magdaleno and Becky Wimbs-These lovely ladies are so talented and sooooo nice!  They always pack their space with sparkling magic!  We love them both and are so happy they continue to join us for Glitterfest!

The folks from Meyer Imports!  They continually provide Glitterfest shoppers with the best glitter in the universe!  It looks so yummy you want to dive in and play in it!

Deb Ward Kennedy of HOMEWARD found had the most amazing waterfall of sweater pumpkins and décor!  I believe it was her parents there helping as well!  Deb dressed the part too, which is always fun and appreciated!  This was her first Glitterfest.  We hope she will join us again!

For everyone that joined us for Glitterfest, Thank you!  It was a wonderful day full of art, fun and sparkling laughter!  For those that missed out, please plan to join us on March 15, 2014 for our next Artful Occasion!

Monday

Collage Couture with Julie Nutting

Whimzy was very pleased to have artist Julie Nutting in the house on Saturday! Julie came to teach her "Collage Couture" art tags to a fabulous group of students! As always, Julie was full of hints, tips and techniques! She had a bevy of tools and trinkets with her, and is so very "go with the flow"!

Shading makes quite a difference!

Personal touches are a "must"!  This also helps those that are unfamiliar with using art materials get comfy!

Julie demonstrates how to create hair.

Her students created 2 different tags in the course of 3 hours. I have to say, the best part is watching the group start out with all the same materials, but by the time they are finished each person has put their own mark on the project!
One of the finished tags!

Everyone learned something, had a great time, and made tags and friends along they way!

And we ALWAYS have something delectable to snack on!

Whimzy! offers all kinds of artful classes monthly!  To register for some of your own creative time go to www.VintageWhimzy.com

Special Saturday Spectacular!

Artist Julie Nutting joined us for a class last Saturday!  Let me tell you this lady is FABULOUS!  We had a full house and so much fun creating her "Collage Couture" canvas piece!  The girls learned so much.  Everyone came out with a truly original piece of work!

Julie now has a book!  I was lucky enough to have a moment to browse through it during class.  It is chock full of her creations as well as instructions.  I had no idea how many of these gorgeous collages she has done!  Each with it's very own feeling.  The colors are marvelous!  The subjects are beautiful!  Julie is amazing!  Click  here  to take a closer look!

More Estate Treasure!

Is this frame not adorable?!  It stands only 3" tall!  I am sure I could find someone fabulous to put into it!  I tried to stick it into my pocket more than once on Sunday!
Needless to say, I got caught!  My bad luck is your gain.......if you hurry!

This porcelain crown is a treasure unto itself!  It is in magnificent condition and looking for a good home.....

This unique item is a glass hand sculpture.  It is signed and really beautiful!  It could make a fabulous paperweight!

These are just some of the unusual findings now at Whimzy!  Come in and see for yourself!  If it has been a month since you have given yourself a present,  now's the time to shop!
